In August 2002, Sascha Maassen and Volker Hegewald founded KMH AUTOMOTIVE GMBH with Dirk Krämer as managing director. 10 years prior to this, Dirk Krämer was managing partner of ZATO GmbH, where he acquired much experience in the area of vehicle development and the use of new materials.

This expertise in innovative technologies – such as processing of fibre composite structures that made the lightweight L3 roadster from ZATO so unique – is being carried on today with the same passion by KMH AUTOMOTIVE.
KMH partner Sascha Maassen has been a professional race car driver since 1993 and has been involved in countless developments and advanced concepts for sports and racing cars. Since 1999, Sascha Maassen has been a Porsche team driver in the North American Sports Car Championship (ALMS), where he was victorious in 23 races and held 3 championship titles (www.sascha-maassen.de).

Volker Hegewald left the company in 2006. At this point, our company management would like to extend our deepest gratitude to him for his support during the founding phase of the company.
